The Georgia Chapter of US Lacrosse is recognizing Surge Director and Head Coach, Paul Thomas, with its 2019 Man of the Year award for outstanding community service and contribution to the sport of lacrosse. Besides founding Northside Surge, one of the area’s largest and most popular youth lacrosse programs, Coach Thomas introduced Atlanta to the national elite C2C travel program (now merged with Thunder LB3), launched MLL and NLL talent clinics on the Northside, coached for high school teams including Woodward, Lovett, Holy Innocents, North Atlanta and St. Pius (where he returns this season as offensive coach), and still actively plays the sport (learn more under the Coaches’ Bios section).

Along with other local lacrosse notables, Coach Thomas will be honored at a banquet on Sunday evening, February 10, 2019 at the Marriott Northwest at Galleria, 200 Interstate North Parkway, Atlanta, 30339. Check in begins at 4:00 pm; program and dinner start at 5:00 pm. Tickets are $45 with cash bar. RSVP by February 6.
